The short version
- You keep your numbers. You give us permission to use them, not ownership.
- Two uses only: (1) to show you your own comparison, and (2) to build anonymous totals (like a median cost per signed job for roofers in Dallas) that we publish and may sell or license to others.
- We never publish, sell or share your business-level numbers, your name, your company or your email. We never sell leads.
- A total only goes public once at least 10 businesses are in it, and no single business makes up more than 25% of it.
- You can ask us to delete your numbers anytime.
What this covers
Anything you send TradeCPL about your marketing: spend, leads, signed jobs, close rates, lead sources, trade, service, city or ZIP. That includes numbers sent through the site form, by email reply, as a screenshot or invoice, or (when available) read from a connected ad account.
The permission you give us
You give TradeCPL a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use what you contribute to: show you your own comparison and report; check and clean the data; and create aggregated, de-identified statistics that we can publish, sell and license, including in reports, an index, newsletters and data products. "Non-exclusive" means you can share the same numbers with anyone else. Aggregated statistics already published or delivered stay in place after you leave, because they can't be traced back to you.
What we never do
- Publish, sell, license or share your individual record, your company name, your contact details, or anything that would let someone work out which business you are.
- Publish a total with fewer than 10 businesses, or where one business is more than 25% of it. We publish locations no finer than metro or a 3-digit ZIP, and we hold back totals in small markets where a business could be guessed.
- Sell your contact information or pass it to lead sellers, agencies or vendors.
- Use what you share to sell you leads.
What you promise
That you're allowed to share the numbers (for example, you own or run the business or have its permission), that they're your honest best estimate, and that you won't send other people's private information, customer names or login details.
Checks and rough numbers
We may check numbers for obvious errors and leave out ones that don't add up. Rough or worked-out answers can power your own comparison but aren't used in published totals.
Deleting your numbers
Email [email protected] from the address you used, or tell us your submission ID. We'll delete your individual record within 30 days. Totals already published stay as they are. See Privacy for how we store data.
No payment, no obligation
Contributing is free and voluntary. We don't pay for contributions, and you don't have to buy anything.
Changes and contact
